Pyroar () is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a duel type Fire-Type/Normal-Type Pokémon that made its first appearance in the sixth generation games X and Y. It has an alternate appearance based on its gender. Pyroar is capable for Mega Evolution.

Like in the games, Lysandre's male Pyroar appeared in the anime.
Origin and inspiration
Pyroar is based on a lion.
Its gender ratio also resembles lion prides, which consist of one primary male lion, several females, and one or two lesser males.
